I visited the village of Swatragh near Maghera, on Friday 18th August to complete a photography commission for a commercial client. I’ve never been to Swatragh before so I was delighted to find this quaint little Anglican Church nestling in trees on a little hill in the village centre.

There’s a backstory too. Apparently some years back the church was in disrepair and needed expensive roof repairs. Various grants were obtained to help, local people contributed, but in an act of community solidarity, the local GAA Club held a fund raising event to help their Protestant neighbours.

And that’s exactly how it should be.
