A modern classic
I found this 2022 built motorcycle parked in Belfast today, – and I was transported back in my mind to the early 1970’s when I rode a Royal Enfield, – not dissimilar in style and shape to this beauty.

No wonder Motorcycle News commented, “A charming blend of modest power, exceptional build quality and quaint styling harking back to the glory days of British motorcycling, it’s a delightful backroad retro companion that’s happiest chugging away below 65mph.” – Except mine was red, and a heap of scrap!
I was shooting on black and white film, but the colour on this classy machine forced me to reach for my back-up for the day, the tiny Leica C-Lux compact camera. The files from this camera are tiny compared with modern digital, just 7mp, but good enough for a 7×5 at 240dpi. In post capture, I cut away the street furniture to give it a white background.
I hadn’t set out to photograph vehicles today – but this bears out my basic principle that the whole world is a photograph!
