I’d just posted a message on a Facebook group, saying how thankful I am that I am a self-employed photographer, instead of being confined to a desk in an office all day, with targets and pressure. I’d said that I enjoyed the more relaxed lifestyle, and was looking forward to my baby shoots in the studio later that day. One or two commented on the concept of a ‘relaxed baby session’ and I assured them that I had it all worked out. THEN this happened…
Baby Imogen came to the studio at Dundonald today with mummy and daddy for her ‘Baby of the Month’ session, in association with Emma’s Diary. What a wee charmer!
I’m so pleased when customers come back to the studio for special occasions… And it’s just LOVELY when one of those customers say, ‘Mummy was so pleased with her photographs that she wanted to give you a wee present!”
Driving along the Ballycowan Road at #Ballymena today when I met these friendly ponies in a field beside the road. One of them was obliging enough to allow me to make a photograph.
I decided to go for an exaggerated bokeh effect, so I selected a 80-210 zoom for the Nikon D610 camera, choose 100 ISO and f/2.8, with a shutter speed of 1/1000th sec. (It was a bright day). The vignetting effect was added in Photoshop.

Today I had two lovely sessions with dogs, in aid of DogsTrust. We had two lovely Shitzu/Westie Cross dogs, a brother and sister called Brenin and Poppy.
Later we had a lovely Black Labrador puppy called Daisy.
Here they are!
Poor Brenin – he really, really wants those treats!
Daisy – adorably affectionate, she just LOVES photographers SO much that she could lick them all over!
Great fun today when Rocco the Bulldog visited our Dundonald Studio for his Pet Portrait Awards photoshoot! Lively, fun and affectionate, loves children, loves attention – hates walks!!! Here he is…
