Here’s my unusual car image for this week. A BMW M4 Coupe, in Austin Yellow! Not one you’d miss on the road!

Photographed for a client.
This BMW 330i I photographed for a client today reminded me of Boris Johnston’s recent attempt at creating a new cuddly green image!
Unlike Boris, this sleek stylish beauty really is efficient and fast paced, 138mpg, 0-62 in 5.9 seconds, and buying it new will set you back a mere £40K or thereabouts.
Truly sleek, with classic lines and superb comfort, the BMW520 estate is a family car with executive class. I photographed it today with the Fujifilm X-T3, indoors, against a white background, so that my client’s website marketing stands out from the competition.
So many nice cars to photograph last week that that it was hard to choose one for ‘Car of the Week.’ But for sheer class it had to be this beautiful Porsche 911 Speedster.
Photographed for a client using the Fujifilm X-T3.
Other contenders for the coveted award were:
I photographed this classy Porsche 911 GT3 RS with the Fujifilm X-T2 mirrorless camera. Light was low, so I selected a high ISO (3200) and a low shutter speed – just 1/30th sec, (handheld) and even then the aperture needed to be f/6.4 – I’d have preferred f/8! Thankfully the mirrorless cameras can untilise slow shutter speeds without much problem, – I wouldn’t have risked a 1/30th second speed with a DSLR. The image stablisation feature on the lens is a great help also.
F=30mm, F/6.4 @ 1/30th sec on ISO3200.
Here’s another of these award winning BMWs that I get to salivate over while photographing them for clients, in the knowledge that they are away over my pay grade!!!
This one new would set you back a cool £115,105!
I photographed this classy car today for a client.
The BMW i8 Roadster, a futuristic presence in the street with lightweight carbon fibre doors and electric soft-top roof, streamflow design to give unprecedented aerodynamics. Acceleration 0 to 62mph in just 4.6 seconds! And if you’ve got £127,105 to spare, you can have one! Btw, it’s dark grey, not black!
Fujifilm X-T2, F=55mm, f/9 @ 1/30th sec on ISO3200. Classic Chrome film simulation gives the image a low colour saturation and a unique chromatic balance. The camera’s settings were tweaked as follows:-
The Mini ‘John Cooper Works’ edition; the ultimate in performance engineering and styling. Photographed for a client to maximise sales potential.
This Mini has distinctive livery, heated front seats (which were a great benefit on this wet miserable day) and a powerful 2 Ltr engine.
An impressive vehicle indeed!
The BMW X-3 SUV. Classy looks and superb performance. Captured for a client today – it will sell!
