Studio photography is great fun! And one of the best sources of enjoyment is when parents bring their baby into the studio for a ‘Watch-Me-Grow’ Baby’s First year Package. Its great to see them develop their own little personalities, and to help their families remember those exciting early days. Weston has just finished his ‘Baby’s First Year’ and he s=ceebrated with a fantastic Batman themed photoshoot, complete with a batman cake!
Here’s James, who has just began his Baby’s First Year photo-package at our Dundonald Studio. He’ll get a studio visit at 4 months, 8 months and 12 months, and a beautiful frwmed piece of wall art, a photo from each of his visits framed in a triplicate frame. What a great deal, and great fun as well.
Watching Bethany, my granddaughter making chocolate chip cookies, I was intrigued by how her hands kneaded the dough, and caught just a few of the moments on the Fujifilm X-T2. I kept the aperture wide open to reduce the depth of field, and blur the background as much as possible. Difficult enough exposures, for the kitchen was quite dark at the time, and ISO was 12800, so some of the images very noisy indeed. However…
What a delight it is to welcome little babies (and their parents of course) to our Dundonald Studio to make memories that will endure. Especially when they are there for a ‘Baby’s First Year’ photo-package. It’s wonderful to see the babies throughout their first year of life, and watch them growing.
Today Baby Alice came with mummy for her 4 month + session, and what a lovely girl she was…
At our professional studio at Dundonald, we have a variety of posing aids and props to suit all ages, including Sydney – the Studio Snake. Snakes are well known for mesmerising their victims, until they are under their influence. So when baby George came in for his second ‘Baby’s First Year’ portrait appontment, he fell under Sydney’s charm and soon was totally spellbound! Here they are together…
Over the next couple of weeks there’s plenty of opportunities for some really good photography outings.
Most obvious of course is the annual ‘OrangeFest’ (as they now call it) on July 12th. Whether you like it or loathe it, there’ll be parades and celebrations right across the province. Where there’s people there’s photographs just waiting to be made. Don’t do the obvious. It’s easy to photograph bands. Instead find a street or a town centre and make it your studio for the day. Watch the street life. Look for interesting happenstances, quirky moments. What’s happening around you on the streets that’s not in the parade? Continue reading What’s to see? w/c 8th July 2018→
Lots of lovely babies in the studio this week. I run a ‘KidsClub’ offer, with (usually) three studio visits over the first year, at 4 months, when they are able to lift their head, at 8 months when they can sit up, and at 12 months when they can stand.
Not everyone want to have their kids featured on a website or social media of course, but thankfully, these two lovelies had no such reservations.
Baby Daisy, celebrating her 1st Birthday with a special cake. Baby Edison, at his eight month session.
Today Michelle and Cianan came to accept their prize, – it’s a beautiful 20×16 inch framed print that would grace anyone’s home and will be a memory to treasure forever. Cianan won the local 1st Prize in the 2017 ‘Child Portrait Awards’ – in support of the Lullaby Trust.
You could win the 2018 CPA (or FPA, if you’ve two or more people to enter) and we’re still supporting this amazing charity. And the UK prize is £1000! Just a £10 donation to our charity fund is all that’s needed to enter.
This week the whole of the British Isles have been under a cloud of snow, with temperatures plunging into minus figures, snow drifts closing roads and causing traffic chaos, as The Beast from the East brings Siberean temperatures across Europe. Just as the Beast took hold, ‘Storm Emma’ sent gale force winds to chill us even further.
The result was that most of our studio appointments were cancelled or postponed. One determined client was Baby John, who (along with his parents) battled through the snow rather than miss his appointment for the last session in his Baby’s First Year package. So here he is, in seasonal conditions…
