You Get What You Pay For!

Someone recently asked me, “Why are your prints so much more expensive than Tesco?” After the choking and spluttering had subsided I gave my standard answer…

“You only get what you pay for!”

After all, I had once heard a woman telling her friend that you could get a canvas for £10 on eBay. I couldn’t help butting in, with the comment, “Great value, it’ll match the rest of your furniture that you bought on eBay!” (I knew that the house in question was very comfortably furnished and that they would never have dreamed of buying their furniture in anywhere but the best shops) Continue reading You Get What You Pay For!

Julia Preview!

Julia’s Family Photo-Shoot Preview

Today at our Dundonald studio, I made friends with the lovely little Julia, who was a real delight!  And she brought her brother and sister with her too.  I’d photographed them around six years ago, but now they’re all grown up looking!  And mummy and daddy came too!

Here’s little preview of some of the images…

Winter Photoshoots

Winter Family Session Clothing and Outfits
OK, we know winter can just be wet and miserable, but on a sunny day winter location shoots can be lovely. And if a snowy day is manageable that is all the better!
For colors you really need to stand out with strong, vibrant colors. Choose bright reds, blues or greens.

Although normally we don’t like patterns actually these can work really well for winter images.

For coats and jackets try and avoid items with strong logo’s – these can be very distracting in the image.

Remember to keep warm, so furry boots, hats, scarves and chunky pullovers are a must.

If you want to keep warm underneath, then thick tights or long johns will help.

Remember to bring flasks of hot drink for you and the children.
