Held at Expresso Cafe, Dundonald on Monday 14th November, when the winners of our local round of the competition were announced. The evening began with an illustrated talk on the work of DogsTrust, given by Samuel Reid the Supporter Liaison Officer with the local DogsTrust Centre at Ballymena.

Following Samuel’s talk Bob showed a video roundup of some of the dogs that he had photographed for the competition throughout the year. The amounts raised were also announced, £6212.39 nationally, and our local total at Dundonald £265.
Then came the exciting moments, when the local prizewinners were announced, and in true competition order, they were announced in reverse order. Continue reading 2016 Pet Portrait Awards Ceremony!
Botanic Avenue Belfast, known locally as part of ‘The Golden Mile’ – comes alive at night, with hotels, classy restaurants, coffee shops, bars, music venues all serving their visitors and clients. This image was made at 9pm in October 2008, using the full frame Nikon D700 Camera, on a monopod, with 24mm lens, 1/20th second @ f/4, on ISO1250.

May I introduce one of our Studio Stars, the delightful Miss Pheobe, who came into our Dundonald Studio with her big brother, Mummy and Granny to pose on one of the studio chairs for this beautiful image…

What a super little girl she is!

Portstewart Strand on a Wet & Windy Thursday in November – so you can get your car onto the beach for free! (It’s owned by National Trust so up to Oct you have to pay) Here’s the proof … Rhoda the Skoda, down in the beach!

A visit to Dunluce Castle, between Portrush and Portballintrae on a cold, windy day in November, yet still plenty of foreign tourists around the ancient monument. The castle was built in the early 17th Century, by Randall McDonnell, and the now derelict mansion house sits out on a rock, reached only by a wooden bridge.

The approach to the castle is by way of a walled ‘funnel’ – to make it virtually unassailable. Visitors would have to be processed through the funnel, and any attack would be almost impossible.
Well really we want the biggest bump possible! So the reply is as late as we can without running the chance of babe arriving before the shoot!
Around 4 weeks before your due date is perfect. But that is solely a guide, anywhere from 12 to 2 weeks before your due date will be fine.

If you are taking maternity leave, then you can certainly wait until you break from work. This gives you a chance to be more chilled and enjoy the shoot instead of feeling like it has to be fitted in.
You may want to do a “gender reveal” – where you use the photographs to announce the sex of your baby. You probably won’t find this out until your 20 week ultrasound scan. You will have a beautiful bump by then if you want to get the news out as soon as you can.
